The Malaysian Embassy in Bangkok has warned its citizens living in or travelling to the capital to exercise extra caution, to keep abreast of weather forecasts and to follow advice from Thai officials because many areas of the city are flooded.
Malaysians are also advised to contact the embassy to get help and to receive updated information about the flooding.
The Malaysian Foreign Ministry issued a statement yesterday saying that some Malaysians have been affected by flooding, adding that help has been extended by the embassy.
Bangkok-Kuala Lumpur flights by Malaysian Airlines and AirAsia are still operating as normal, although some flights have been delayed. Nonetheless, passengers are advised to spare more time for travel to airports and to avoid flooded roads in the Lat Krabang area. The use of motorways and expressways is recommended.
Several other embassies in Thailand have also issued similar flood-related advisories.
