Former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra said today that it is not time for cabinet reshuffle yet, because ministers are still getting along well, with the exception of some minor problems, which are being handled.
He said that, if there were to be a reshuffle, it should involve multiple ministers, not just one or two from the same party, as he dismissed the rumour that Thammanat Prompao, advisory chairman of the Kla Tham party, will replace Agriculture Minister Narumon Pinyosinwat, the party leader, noting that both of them are getting along quite well.
He emphasised, though, that it is exclusively within Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra’s control as to what and when changes are to be made.
Asked to comment on the opposition’s motion to seek a no-confidence debate, and the possibility that he may be implicated in one way or another, Thaksin said that, since he is an outsider, he has no right to sit in the parliament chamber,
He added that, if any MP has questions about him, he may be outside the chamber to respond to the questions, adding that he is not worried at all.
Asked whether Paetongtarn, his daughter, is ready to face a censure debate, Thaksin said that the prime minister has been through a similar session before and will handle it without difficulty.
