Airborne PM2.5 pollutants, measured at 60 locations in the capital, have reached the orange, or potentially harmful to health level today, with air quality expected fluctuate for the next seven days, according to the Air Quality Information Centre of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration.
The concentration of PM2.5 in the capital’s air was measured at 7am today. It ranges from 33.6 microns (µg/m³) to 57.1µg/m³. The safe level is 37.5µg/m³.
The ten most polluted areas today are:
1. Nong Khaem, 57.1µg/m³
2. Bangkok Noi, 56.9µg/m³
3. Thon Buri, 56.3µg/m³
4. Laksi, 55.9µg/m³
5. Bang Rak, 53.1µg/m³
6. Khlong San, 52.0µg/m³
7. Phasi Charoen, 52.0µg/m³
8. Lat Krabang, 51.9µg/m³
9. Phaya Thai, 50.6µg/m³
10. Bang Khun Thian, 50.2µg/m³
The Air Quality Information Centre said air circulation today is variable, resulting in only limited dispersal of airborne pollutants.
