Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow will pay a two-day official visit to Indonesia this weekend, according to a diplomatic source.
It will be the first country he officially visits since his recent appointment as the new foreign minister. During his visit from October 5–6, he will meet his Indonesian counterpart, Foreign Minister Sugiono, to discuss bilateral and regional issues. The Myanmar crisis and the current Thailand–Cambodia situation are high on the agenda as well.
He will also take part in the “ASEAN for the Peoples Conference,” organized by the Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia.
Last year, two-way trade volume reached US$20 billion. Indonesia exports crude oil, coal, rubber, and palm oil to Thailand. Automobiles, machinery, and electronic goods are key exports to Indonesia.
In recent years, both countries have deepened their cooperation in green energy and sustainable development. They also emphasize supply chain resilience and infrastructure investment.
