All 50 districts of Bangkok declared facing public disaster due to heavy rain

All 50 districts of Bangkok have been declared public disaster zones due to sustained rainfall and floods.

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration announced today that the move, effective immediately, will enable relevant government agencies and local administrative organisations to carry out their duties and responsibilities promptly and systematically.

The 2007 Public Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Act gives broad authority to the Bangkok Governor to command disaster mitigation and limitation attempts
