An entire family of seven, including two young children, died when their house, and those of two neighbours, caught fire early this morning in the Muang district of Rayong province. Three other people were also injured.
According to an initial police report, the fire broke out at about 4.30am in a house in Tha Pradoo sub-district, in which a family of seven, including the two parents, their three children and two grandchildren, one aged 4 and the other 2, resided.
All three houses were razed before the fire could be brought under control. The bodies have been taken to the Rayong provincial hospital for autopsy, while the three who survived but were injured, were treated at the same hospital.
Police said that investigators currently attempting to determine the cause of the fire.
