Four Thai nationals were killed and another injured yesterday in a rocket attack on Metula, a small town in northern Israel near the Lebanese border, according to Thai Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa in his “X” post on Friday.
The foreign minister said that he deeply regrets the loss of life and has instructed the Thai embassy in Tel Aviv to assist the injured and the families of the deceased.
He also called on all parties in the conflict to return to peaceful talks, to protect innocent people from the escalating violence.
Meanwhile, Labour Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn said today that he has instructed the labour permanent secretary to coordinate with the Thai labour attaché in Tel Aviv over the evacuation of all Thai nationals working in northern Israel, near the Lebanese border, to the southern region.
He also said he has ordered labour officials to visit the families of the four deceased to offer them moral support and to understand their immediate needs.
