Since last Tuesday, Venice has been facing the worst flooding in its history.
It is being caused by, what is known locally as, “acqua alta”, or unusually high tides, which peaked at 1.87 metres.
The images show scenes of devastation. At least one person has died after being electrocuted as the flood waters engulf power systems.
