Future Forward party leader Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit and four others reported to Pathum district police today (Friday), to acknowledge charges of holding a political gathering without permission at the Pathumwan skywalk in mid-December.

The four others are Pairatthachote Chantharakachorn, former electoral candidate of Future Forward party, political activist Prit “Penguin” Chivarak, Ms. Nattha “Bo” Mahatthana and Thanawat Wongchai, one of the organizers of the “Wing Lai Loong” (Run against Dictatorship) event.

Pathumwan police said that they have issued summonses for Future Forward secretary-general Piyabutr Saengkanokkul, spokeswoman Ms. Pannika “Chor” Wanich and MP Pitha Limcharoeenrat, who took part in the skywalk protest, to report to the Pathum district police station for acknowledgement of similar charges.

A group of supporters appeared at the police station to offer moral support to the five accused.

Thanking his supporters, Thanathorn told them that Thai people today are being harassed by the authorities, who do not respect their basic rights, citing the case of Pairatthachote, whose family has been harassed by security officials who visited their house and took photographs.
