Sixteen new COVID-19 cases recorded in Thailand today

Thailand today recorded 16 new COVID-19 cases. All except one are Thais returning from abroad, according to the CCSA.

The Thai cases include nine returning from Turkey, one each from the United States, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Switzerland, Sweden and Kuwait.  The sixteenth is a Kuwaiti teacher arriving from Kuwait.

CCSA said that the 23-year old Kuwaiti teacher was recorded asinfected on September 21st. She arrived in Thailand on November 16th, on a flight from Kuwait via the UAE, and tested positive again one week later.  She is currently being treated at a private hospital in Bangkok.

Eight patients have recovered today, bringing that total to 3,788.

Cumulative infections in Thailand, to date, are 3,942, including 2,454 locally-transmitted cases and 1,488 imported cases. 94 people are still being treated in hospitals and the death toll remains 60.

Cumulative global infections, at 9am today, are 60,715,719, including 103,933 severe cases.  Total recoveries are 42,028,241 and there have been 1,426,734 deaths.
