The country is preparing for an exciting Pride Month, scheduled to run from late May to June.

With a commitment to festivities and inclusivity, the nation is poised to proudly hoist the rainbow flag, welcoming travellers from diverse backgrounds to join in the celebrations and immerse themselves in Thailand’s renowned hospitality.

Spanning across Thailand’s key pride destinations, including Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Pattaya, Phuket, and Samui, the month-long celebration promises a myriad of vibrant events and activities to honour and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community.

Chiang Mai, renowned for its rich cultural heritage and emergence as an LGBTQ-friendly destination, will take centre stage with the Colourful Pride Festival 2024, scheduled from May 25 to June 30.

This dynamic festival will feature a lively LGBTQ+ parade, captivating concerts, inspiring art exhibitions, exhilarating photography contests, and enchanting decorative lighting at iconic landmarks such as Tha Phae Gate, Iron Bridge, and Rin Kham Intersection.

Enhancing the city’s welcoming atmosphere is its array of LGBTQ-friendly establishments, including inviting bars, cafes, and guesthouses, ensuring that all visitors feel welcome.

Chiang Mai’s inclusive spirit and diverse offerings make it an ideal destination for LGBTQ+ travellers and anyone seeking a culturally rich and open-hearted adventure.

In Bangkok, the Bangkok Pride Festival 2024 will take place from May 31 to the end of June, offering a plethora of LGBTQ-friendly activities, including drag artist performances, and conferences and seminars addressing LGBTQ+ issues.

The highlight of the event is the LOVE PRIDE ♡ PARADE 2024, set to take place on June 30, featuring the largest and longest pride parade in Asia.

Starting from the Supachalasai National Stadium near MBK Mall, the parade will travel along Rama I Road, passing through Pathum Wan, Siam, Ratchaprasong, Ploenchit, Asoke and Sukhumvit, before concluding at Benjasiri Park.

Running from 4 pm to 6.30 pm, this phase is expected to significantly boost tourist interest in Thailand.

In Chonburi Province, Pattaya Beach City will take centre stage in celebrating the festivities and creativity with the Pattaya Pride International and the Pattaya Pride Community events.

Additionally, mark your calendars for the Thailand Pride 2024 Festival on June 29, celebrating a historic month of pride.

This grand festival will feature a magnificent pride parade, proudly displaying rainbow flags with representatives from all 77 provinces of Thailand, spanning civil, government, and private sectors, alongside international partners.

The festivities will include live music performances, a Diversity Fashion Show, and the inaugural Thailand Pride Forum, facilitating discussions and idea exchanges on regional diversity trends in the Asia-Pacific.

Situated just a two-hour drive east of Bangkok, Pattaya is a vibrant beach city that embraces individuals from every background, particularly LGBTQ travellers.

Its dynamic celebration during the pride festival offers a plethora of LGBTQ-friendly establishments, including bars, clubs, restaurants, and hotels tailored to the community’s needs.

In Thailand’s southern region, Samui Island will take the spotlight in celebrating Pride Month with the Samui International Pride Festival from June 24 to 29.

This extraordinary event guarantees a dazzling array of dynamic entertainment, featuring dazzling lights, vibrant colours, captivating sounds, and mesmerising special effects.

Hosted by the renowned destination for global travellers, Samui Island in Surat Thani Province, the festival will unite international Pride groups in creating a “Prideradise.”

Expect a Pride Parade, music festival, electrifying drag queen performances, world-class DJs, and talented Thai artists, all poised to infuse the island with energy and excitement.

Nakhon Ratchasima in northeast Thailand and Phuket in the south also welcome and celebrate Pride Month with a series of LGBTQ-friendly activities.
