He cited a provision in the Constitution, which specifies that an MP must perform their duty honestly, for the benefit of the country and the people, by not missing attendance in parliament for more than a quarter of the meeting days within a parliamentary session.
He also referred to the code of conduct for MPs, which states that an member of parliament must devote their time to attending meetings, be punctual and not miss meetings unless it is necessary or in case of sickness.
From his own observation, Prompong said he scarcely sees Gen Prawit in parliament and is not sure whether he has performed his duty as an MP, in accordance with the Constitution and the code of conduct for MPs.
In his pursuit of the truth about Prawit’s parliamentary attendance, the former spokesman said he has sought permission to copy the general’s letters for leave from parliamentary meetings, from July 3 last year until today.
He said he also asked for evidence of Prawit’s acceptance of salary payments from parliament.
He claimed that he had received complaints from several taxpayers, asking him to investigate whether Prawit is doing his job as an MP properly and whether he has received his full pay of over 200,000 baht per month.
