Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra said today that she aims to finalise her cabinet line-up this week, before submission for royal assent.
The names of all ministerial candidates have already been sent for vetting, she added.
Meanwhile, acting Deputy Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai stated that the new cabinet will be complete before September 15th.
When asked if there would be any further changes to the list, Phumtham said the only thing to do is to wait and see.
Paetongtarn was granted a royal audience as the 31st Prime Minister of Thailand on August 18th. Since then, her coalition parties have been scrambling to nominate their candidates for coveted ministerial portfolios.
Each candidate will be carefully scrutinised in a formal vetting process, to prevent a repeat of the appointment of someone like formerly imprisoned Phichit Chuenban to a cabinet post by former Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin, who was removed from office as a result
