More than half of survey respondents believe that the government of Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra will survive until the end or close to the end of its term in 2027, according to NIDA Poll.
The poll was conducted by the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) on October 21st and 22nd by asking the opinions of 1,310 people of different educational and professional backgrounds about the factors that could prevent the government fulfilling its term.
The poll shows 41.68% of the respondents believe the government will survive until 2027, while 11.99% believe it will survive until close to the end of its term. 19.08% believe it will survive for the next two years, 16.87% believe it will survive for the next 12 months and 9.77% believe it will only survive until the end of this year.
34.43% believe that failure to fulfill economic promises will contribute to the premature end of the government’s term.
32.52% believe complaints against Thaksin Shinawatra, the de facto leader of Pheu Thai party, and against the party itself will lead to the premature demise of the government, while 17.25% believe that conflicts between coalition partners will result in a premature end to the administration.
16.64% believe that there are no problems which will contribute to an early end of the government, while 10.92%believe that mass protests against the government may cause it to collapse before the end of its term.
9.62% believe constitutional amendments, pertaining to the ethical standards of political office holders, may result in the collapse of the government, while 8.42% think the proposed amnesty law will be the possible cause.
Only 6.95% believe a coup will put an end to this administration.
