PM Srettha joins the water splashing fun in Hua Hin

Sporting a colourful shirt and shorts and carrying a water gun, Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin joined locals and tourists in the resort town of Hua Hin in celebrating Songkran in Pone Kingpetch Park, at an event arranged by the Hua Hin municipality.

In his Facebook post, the prime minister wrote that he hailed a “Kapor” (a four-wheel public transport vehicle, slightly largerthan tuk-tuk) to the park to participate in the Songkran celebrations.

He also said that he had poured water on the Phra Phuttha Sihing Buddha image, as a gesture for blessings on the traditional Thai New Year’s Day, and performed a “rod nam dum hua” ceremony to ask for blessings for elderly people participating in the event.

He wished for the Thai people to enjoy the festive activities in safety and good health.
