Ariyaporn Limkamontip won the first gold medal for Thailand in the Health and Social Care category at the 47th WorldSkills competition in Lyon, France.
Ariyaporn, a fourth-year student in Ramathibodi School of Nursing, Mahidol University, won a gold medal, while silver medals went to Estéfany Mariana Marengoni from Brazil and Fatima Alhameli from the United Arab Emirates. The bronze was won by Xiaoan Zeng from China.

Ariyaporn beat 19 international competitors, thanks to her background in nursing and her English skills.
Paramin Phakutlo won a silver medal in CNC Turning, or Computer Numerical Control skills.

Twenty-two Thai youths were competing in 19 categories at the WorldSkills Lyon 2024 competition, held between September 10th and 15th, at the LDLC Arena in Lyon.
Thailand first took part in WorldSkills in 1993 in Taiwan, when it received a certificate of excellent skill in jewellery.
WorldSkills inspires young people to develop a passion for skills and pursuing excellence, through competitions and promotions. The competition is held every two years and the next will be in 2026 in Shanghai.
