The Treasury Department has issued a commemorative coin on the occasion of Children’s Day 2026 and has invited the general public to purchase the special mintage for their collections.
Akkaruth Sandhyananda, the department’s director-general, told the media this week that the cupronickel coin was produced to represent the significance of Thai children and youths to the nation’s future.
He said the solid coin features a pair of young male and female siblings, dressed in traditional Thai costumes and playing traditional Thai musical instruments, on its front, with a backdrop of Thai architecture.
The design aims to reflect the loveliness of Thai children and the country’s established national culture, along with the warmth of Thai families, according to the director-general.
The reverse side bears the Children’s Day 2026 motto, “Love Thailand, Care for the World”, presented by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, with his signature at the centre, while the Children’s Day date — January 10, 2026 — and the Royal Thai Mint are sculpted above and below, respectively.
The 32mm-diameter coin, together with its casket, is priced at 20 baht each. For more information, please contact the Royal Thai Mint’s souvenir store at 0 2516 8174 or visit its Facebook page.
