The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) and the Department of the Promotion and Development of Quality of Life of the Disabled will distribute 1.1 million SIM cards to disabled and poor people,providing free internet for six months from February.
Torpong Selanon, an NBTC commissioner, said today that the free internet package is gift to disabled and state welfare card holders who cannot currently afford access to the internet.
Those interested can register from now until the end of December and distribution of the cards will commence in January.
The internet speed is 2.0Mb and the users will be able to use it for six months, he added.
