Myanmar’s Chin ethnic armed force takes over Thantlang police station

Myanmar’s ethnic armed force has attacked and managed to take over the main police station in Thantlang, according to the Chin National Army (CNA).

CNA announced that they started the attack on the night of February 8th and managed to take it over an hour after midnight.

The group said that there was one casualty on their side.

Myanmar’s military government announced that the security post and police station in Thantlang has come under attack and was taken over after an intense firefight.

The statement said that security forces, after sustaining injuries and casualties, decided to retreat to a different camp, with the help of aerial strikes.

It said that a counter-terrorism operation is underway to take back control of the police station.

Thantlang is one of the cities in which the military has declared martial law on February 2nd, 2023.
