His Majesty the King has conveyed his condolences to Lao President Bounnhang Vorachith over the flood disaster caused by the partial collapse of the Xe-Pian Xe-Namnoy dam in Attapeu province.
In his message to the Lao President, HM the King said he felt shocked and deeply saddened after learning of the flood disaster resulting from heavy rains in Champasak and Attapeu provinces which led to the damage of the Xe-Pian Xe-Samnoy dam, resulting in deaths, disappearance and evacuation of a lot of people from the affected areas as well as causing extensive damage to property and infrastructure.
“I myself and the Thai people wish to express our deep sorrow to you and the people of Laos, especially the families for their loss and sufferings. I assure you with our sincerity that the Thai people will stand by Laos and its people so they will be able to overcome this tragic event.”
