Weather department is forecasting heavy rain for most parts of Thailand today (Wednesday), including Bangkok.

Flash floods and waterway overflows, especially in foothills and low lands, should be expected. It also advised people to be cautious when travelling through thunderstorms and to avoid open areas, large billboards and sheltering under big trees.

In Bangkok, the department forecasts widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall. In the northern Andaman Sea, the strengthening wind will mean waves of three meters in height and higher in stormy areas.

In the upper Andaman Sea, the strengthening wind forces waves likely two-three meters high and more than three meters high in thundershowers. Therefore, all vessels should proceed with caution and avoid stormy areas. Small boats should not go to sea.
