The new government is expected to revive Prayut Chan-o-cha administration’s 50:50 co-payment scheme, to stimulate the economy in the short term, Siripong Angkasakulkiat, one of the deputy leaders of the Bhumjaithai party, said today.
He noted, however, that the scheme will be slightly refined, to rectify issues in the original scheme and to increase the benefits for people and businesses participating in the program.
Judging from public feedback, he said the co-payment program is more useful than the digital wallet scheme, also of the Pheu Thai party, adding, though, that it is not yet known how much will be needed to fund the program or from where it will come.
Siripong noted that the scheme could be launched quickly, because the infrastructure is already in place.
