The younger sister of one of three family members allegedly killed by four suspects in custody for the killing of two Russian siblings has complained to the media that she sought help from the Huai Yai police and several relevant agencies about a month ago, asking them to track down the missing family members, but to no avail.
Thanks to the police investigation into the disappearance of the two Russian siblings, 22-year-old Diana and 17-year-old Roman, the complainant said the case of her missing family members, including the parents and their teenage daughter, was resolved with the discovery of their bodies buried not far from where the bodies of the two Russians were unearthed.
She urged the justice system to sentence the perpetrators harshly.
Four suspects are being held in police custody for alleged involvement in the deaths of all five victims. They have been identified by police only as 'Pong', 'Thong', 'Asadang' and 'Hatchanan'.
'Thong' is reported to have told police that, about a month ago, the four of them robbed the family of three of their pick-up truck and killed all of them. He claimed that they went to the family's house in Bang Lamung district with 'Pong' disguised as a police officer.
They handcuffed the three and, using the stolen vehicle, drove them to a coconut plantation, where each of them shot one of the three victims dead. Police claim that the teenage daughter was sexually assaulted before she was murdered. The three victims were then buried in a single grave.
The four suspects are charged with premeditated murder, robbery, rape, illegal possession of firearms and attempting to cover up their crimes. They were taken by police to the Pattaya court today to have their detention extended pending further investigation.
