Cooler weather forecast for north and northeast on Saturday

Temperatures in Thailand’s north and northeast are forecast to drop by 1-3oC on Saturday, due to the influence of a moderate cold front from China which is currently looming over the north and the South China Sea, according to the Meteorological Department.

The mercury in central Thailand, including Bangkok, its peripherals and eastern provinces is also forecast to fall slightly.

Heavy downpours are predicted in some areas in the extreme south, due to moderate north-eastern monsoon over the Gulf of Thailand and the south.

Rough seas are predicted in the southern Gulf, with waves averaging two metres high, but over two metres in stormy areas.Minimum temperatures in Bangkok and its peripherals tomorrow are forecast to be between 23-25oC with moderate winds.

inimum temperatures in northern provinces tomorrow morning are forecast to drop by 1-3oC to 19-22oC, with rain storms in Mae Hong Son, Chiang  Mai, Chiang Rai, Phayao and Nan.

The northeast will be windy, with minimum temperatures ranging from 15-21oC.
