In the next 24 hours another wave of cold air from China is forecast to blanket Thailand’s north, causing temperatures to drop by 2-4oC and by 1-3oC in other parts of the country, including Bangkok, the Meteorological Department reported today.
Increased rain and isolated heavy showers are forecast in the south, as a consequence of the escalation of the moderate north-eastern monsoon over the Gulf of Thailand, the southern region and the Andaman Sea.
Strong winds and waves of up to 3 metres, even higher in stormy areas, are expected in the southern Gulf. Sailors and fishermen are advised to exercise caution and to avoid stormy areas.
