A 14-year-old Mathayom 3 student opened fire at a school in the northern province of Kamphaeng Phet this afternoon, firing about six shots before he was subdued by teachers and police.
No one was injured, but a vehicle was damaged.
The incident occurred at about 2.20pm when the student, who was on a temporary suspension from classes, entered the school carrying a 9mm handgun and began firing.
School officials immediately instructed other students to remain inside their classrooms and lock the doors.

A security guard at the school said he was alerted by a parent that the student was carrying a gun, but before he could react, the student opened fire near him. The gunshots left the guard's ears ringing.
The student then fired another shot into the air near a tree in the middle of the school compound and continued to fire several more shots, the guard said.
One of the bullets struck a teacher's car parked inside the school compound, shattering its window.
Teachers and police who rushed to the scene subdued the student and seized the handgun.The motive for the shooting is unknown.
