More than 25,000 households in 26 districts of Chiang Rai, Phitsanuloke, Phetchabun, Nong Khai, Nong Bua Lamphu, Ayutthaya and Satun are being affected by flooding today, according to the Department of Public Disaster Prevention and Mitigation.
Manpower and equipment have been sent to drain floodwater away and to help the flood victims, said the department, adding that the situation is improving.
Since August 16th, Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Mae Hong Son, Tak Phayao, Nan, Lamphun, Lampang, Phrae, Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Phitsanuloke, Nakhon Sawan, Phetchabun, Loei, Udon Thani, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nong Bua Lamphu, Prachin Buri, Ang Thong, Ayutthaya, Chumphon, Rayong, Phuket, Yala, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phang-nga, Trang and Satun have been hit by flooding.
3,770 villages in 160 districts were inundated and more than 153,000 households have been affected.
46 people have died and 24 have been injured.
