A motorcyclist has filed a complaint at the Bang Srimuang police station in Nonthaburi province against the owner of a red Mazda sedan, who allegedly rammed the car into his motorbike on Ratchapruek Road, with an apparent intention to harm him.
The victim, 49-year-old Chintakarn, sought help from Ekkaphop Luangprasert, founder of the “Sai Mai Tong Rod” web page, which is dedicated to helping victims of crimes, after the red Mazda’s owner posted a video of the February 28th incident on social media.
The video prompted some online sleuths to examine clips of similar incidents involving motorcyclists, posted by the same red Mazda driver. The old footage was reposted, generating mixed reactions to the conduct of the Mazda driver. Some suggest that the motorist might be intentionally causing the accidents due to a dislike of motorcyclists.
Ekkaphop contacted Chintakarn for more details about the incident. He told him that he was riding in the right lane of Ratchapruek Road when a red Mazda appeared behind him, sounding its horn. The two vehicles then collided.
Chintakarn said his bike was scratched on the right side and the left wing mirror of the Mazda was broken in the minor collision, adding that he managed to keep control of his bike. Both sides called their insurers.
Ekkaphop thought, however, that the collision might not have been accidental, given the Mazda driver’s previous accident record.
