There have been no new COVID-19 infections or fatalities in Thailand today (Monday), as the country further eases restrictions on high-risk business and leisure activities and lifts the nation-wide night time curfew.

CCSA spokesman Dr. Taweesin Visanuyothin today reminded everyone to wear face masks every time they are outside, as they return to something like a normal life.

He said that there has not been a single case of locally-transmitted infection in the country for three weeks adding, however, that there is concern as to whether Thailand will be able to control the spread of COVID-19 now that the country is in the 4th phase of lockdown restriction easing.

New infections in the past three weeks are all among Thais already in quarantine, having returned from abroad, said Dr. Taweesin.  

There are 34 confirmed infections among 174 returnees from Kuwait, 65 among 648 from Indonesia, 13 among 196 from Pakistan, 18 among 274 returned from Saudi Arabia and nine infections among 216 returnees from Qatar.

Thailand’s cumulative infections to date are 3,135, with 2,987 recoveries. The death toll remains 58. 90 others are still in hospital.

Of all confirmed infections, 1,747 were in Bangkok, 95 in the northern region, 438 in the rest of the central region, 111 in the Northeast and 744 cases in the southern region.
