The remains of four Thai nationals, killed in a recent rocket attack in northern Israel, will return to Thailand tomorrow.
Thai Ambassador to Israel, Pannabha Chandraramya, expressed condolences to their families, urging the Israeli side to find ways to prevent such tragedies.
She spoke at a send-off ceremony for the remains, held yesterday at an airport in Tel Aviv, attended by Israeli representatives. The four were identified as Arkapon Wansai, Prayat Pilasrum, Thana Tichantuek, and Kaveesak Papanang.
They were killed on October 31 in a rocket attack on Metula, a small town in northern Israel near the Lebanese border.
After arriving in Thailand, the remains will be taken to their hometowns for funerals.
An Israeli representative offered his condolences and an assurance that his country will care for Thai nationals to the same standard as for Israelis.
These four deaths bring the total number of Thai nationals killed in Israel to 50, since Hamas militants launched an attack across Israel’s borders in October last year.
Six Thai nationals are still believed still to be in captivity.
