Why Halal has become big business
Many people think that Halal are Islamic requirements related to food, but Halal covers much more than that. Halal products are in very high demand worldwide, including cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and even media, banking and clothing.
Thai PBS World spoke with the Founding Director of the Halal Science Centre at Chulalongkorn University, Associate Professor Dr. Winai Dahlan, about the meaning of Halal and its importance.
