The Election Commission (EC) is offering a maximum reward of one million baht to whistle-blowers who report violations of the electoral law in the selection of new senators.

Tips can be submitted through provincial inspectors, senator selection offices nationwide, to the police and via the Ta Sapparod (Pineapple Eyes) application.

The reward ranges from Bt100,000 to Bt1 million for bona fide tips, which will be considered according to the EC’s rules.

Thailand has officially started the selection process for 200 new senators, replacing the last set whose terms expired last month.

A total of 48,117 candidates have registered and the new Senate line up will be announced on July 2.
