Warrants out for arrest of 4 more bombing and arson suspects

The Criminal Court has issued warrants for the arrests of four more individuals wanted by the police for suspected involvement in the bombing and arson attacks in Bangkok and Nonthaburi province on August 1st and 2nd.

The four suspects were identified as Asmee Arbuwa, Uzman Porlor, Amri Maming and Hasae Baelor.

Pol Col Krisana Pattanacharoen, deputy spokesman for the Royal Thai Police, said Wednesday that the men were wanted on charges of criminal association, arson, possession and carrying of explosive devices in public and causing damage to property.

Two other suspects, Ulai Sae-ngae and Wildon Maha, both natives of the southernmost province of Narathiwat, were arrested earlier this month at a checkpoint in Chumpon province as they were travelling back to their home following the incidents in Bangkok and Nonthaburi province.

He insisted that the four suspects were not scapegoats and that police have strictly adhered to the law and human rights principles in the handling of this case.  He pleaded with the public to have faith in the police in the performance of duties.

Pol Col Krisana also called on members of the public, who have information pertaining to the four suspects who are still at large, to come forward and call 191 or 1599.

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan said Wednesday that the mastermind behind the bomb and arson attacks is in a neighbouring country. He did not elaborate or offer any evidence to back up his claim.
