The kind-hearted residents of Mariupol City, in south-eastern Ukraine, have had an inspired idea to help the city’s homeless survive region’s bitterly cold winter.

They festoon trees with warm hats, scarves, gloves and jackets, which the homeless and destitute can simply take.

This initiative warms the homeless, and the heart, as we approach Christmas, the season of giving.
