Vaccination appointments, made via the Mor Prom app by people aged 60 and over and those with any of the seven specified underlying diseases, have been brought forward, from August to July, amid the increasing spread of COVID-19.

According to a Mor Prom Facebook post yesterday (Monday), those in these groups, with vaccination appointments scheduled in August, can get inoculated at the Bang Sue Grand Station in Bangkok in July, and that officials will call them up to make a new appointment. The arrangements for people who already have hospital appointments for vaccination in July remain unchanged.

The move is aimed at reducing severe COVID-19 cases and deaths, as the elderly and those with chronic respiratory disease, heart or blood vessel disease, chronic kidney disease, cerebrovascular disease or stroke, cancer, obesity or diabetes are deemed to be at greater risk of severe symptoms and death.

Those who have appointments in August and who have not been contacted for a new booking, can complete the form https://forms.gle/649P1ddWKA9p9VaN9 to request one. A text message will be sent to you to confirm the date, time and venue of the jab. Walk-ins are not accepted at the Bang Sue Grand Station vaccination site.

Meanwhile, people are also getting their second dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine a month sooner than planned, as the time between doses has been returned to 12 weeks, instead of the 16 weeks recently announced by the government, after daily infections almost doubled over the past week, compared to the past few months, and especially because of the increase in more transmissible Delta variant cases.
