Thailand’s high-tech, low-cost farming

A vast majority of Thai farmers are struggling to improve the quality and quantity of their crop yields, as more than 90% of farming households still use only basic machinery in their production process.

A melon farm in Ayutthaya province, however, has adopted advanced technology, in the form of computer-based algorithms, data collection and analysis, to increase crop quality, uniformity and operational efficiency, with a minimal investment.
