Thailand’s confirmed COVID-19 cases jump by 89 on Saturday

Thailand reported 89 confirmed new COVID-19 infections on Saturday, the biggest single day jump to date. This brings the country’s total confirmed infections to 411, with the boxing stadium cluster accounting for 32.

The infected boxing fans were finally located in Bangkok, Samut Prakan, Nonthaburi, Kanchanaburi, Ubon Ratchathani, Surat Thani, Surin, Krabi and Suphan Buri provinces.

Of the new confirmed infections, 38 are not related to cluster contagion, such as from the boxing stadium or the Muslim pilgrims returning from Malaysia.  They include six foreigners, who visited entertainment places in the Cambodian border town of Poipet, people working in entertainment venues and drivers.

Of the 38 non-cluster new infections, seven of them are in a serious condition
