Thailand records one new COVID-19 case in state quarantine

Thailand today recorded one new COVID-19 infection among returnees in state quarantine, while eight more people have recovered from the disease and returned home.

According to the CCSA, the new case is a 38-year old Thai businessman who arrived in Thailand from India on August 8th, together with 21 other passengers who tested positive for COVID-19.

He entered state quarantine in Bangkok after his arrival and cleared the first test. The second test, conducted on August 21st, found him infected and with a fever, cough, fatigue and anosmia.

Cumulative infections in Thailand, to date, are 3,403, with 3,222 recoveries and 58 deaths.  108 others are still being treated in hospital.
