Cambodian residents of Oddar Meanchey province, which shares borders with Thailand’s Surin and Si Sa Ket provinces, began evacuating to shelters this morning following cross-border clashes with Thailand.
Khmer Times online shared footage of civilians boarding vehicles, carrying essential belongings and being directed by the authorities.
The evacuations began after Thai Air Force F-16 fighters struck Cambodian outposts, in retaliation for Cambodia’s series of attacks, which began yesterday, in which a Thai soldier died and a number of others were injured.
