Thailand issued a retaliatory measure, limiting the stays of Cambodian nationals in Thailand to seven days, down from the previous 60, said Thai Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nikorndej Balankura today.
The new measure comes one day after the Cambodian government shortened the permitted stay for Thai nationals in Cambodia to seven days.
Nikorndej did not say how long the new measure will remain in effect.
The new restriction has been announced despite the fact that the border tension between both countries has eased, after Cambodian troops moved back from the disputed area in Ubon Ratchathani’s Nam Yuen district.
