Thai food with cannabis introduced – Thai PBS World Tonight [5th March 2021]

After the Food and Drug Administration allowed cannabis to be used as an ingredient, many food vendors at a market in Bangkok have started offering such dishes.

One such is stir-fried minced pork with basil mixed with cannabis, where they used the boiled water from dried-cannabis leaves.

The vendors selling such items have to put up a sign, clearly listing all the ingredients, along with warnings that the dishes are not suitable for children or pregnant women.

A food vendor said that using cannabis in cooking helps to enhance the flavour of the dishes. Some of their customers have already tried it and returned for more, while some are still hesitant.

Apart from the stir-fried minced pork, there’s also a fried omelette, with a large cannabis leaf in the middle. Other food items incorporating cannabis include noodles, beef green curry, bitter gourd soup and pork stew.
