Former deputy police commissioner, Pol Gen Surachate Hakparn, lost an appeal to return to the police service when the Supreme Administrative Court rejected his petition for the court to order a stay of the dismissal order.
In the petition, Surachate named the police commissioner general, the police good governance protection committee and the prime minister for being jointly responsible for his dismissal, pending his trial for malfeasance in office.
The Supreme Administrative Court ruled that the dismissal order is legitimate, so there are no grounds on which the court should stay the order.
In addition to Surachate, seven other police officers, who were close to him, were dismissed from the police service pending trials.
All eight officers have already been found guilty of gross disciplinary violations for involvement in the MBK online gambling website.
