Palang Pracharath Party’s spokesman claimed today that the party has damning evidence for use against the government during the censure debate next week, which will pin Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra into a corner, not knowing whether “to burst into tears or resign.”
The spokesman, Pol Lt-Gen Piya Tavichai, said that party leader General Prawit Wongsuwan will lead the their MPs in grilling the prime minister for a total of 18 minutes, during which the former deputy prime minister will attack the government for its complete failure in national administration.
General Prawit will be followed by other MPs, who will speak in more detail about the failures, supported by hard evidence, which may cause MPs of the coalition parties think carefully about voting in favour of the prime minister, said the spokesman.
He claims that the evidence will render the prime minister speechless, adding that he believes that the public will not be disappointed by the opposition.
Meanwhile, the ruling Pheu Thai Party has formed a team of 20 speakers, to ensure that opposition MPs comply strictly with meeting regulations.
Pheu Thai MP Anusorn Iamsa-ard told a press conference today that the 20 speakers are not “guardians” protecting the prime minister, adding that opposition MPs can speak comfortably without being interrupted by Pheu Thai MPs, unless they breach meeting regulations.
The 20 will be led by veteran MPs, among them Cholnan Srikaew, Sutin Klungsang and Prayuth Siripanich.
