Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin said today that he has no alternative plan and has not thought about dissolving the House of Representatives if he is stripped of his premiership by the Constitutional Court tomorrow.
He said he had assigned his secretary-general, Dr. Prommin Lertsuridej, to attend the reading of the court’s decision, in a case in which he is charged, by a group of senators, of breaching the law by appointing a convict, Pichet Chuenban, as prime minister’s office minister.
Commenting on a remark by Wissanu Krea-ngam, one of his legal advisors, volunteering to step in, in a caretaker capacity, if he is removed from office by the court, the prime minister said that he had not considered such an approach.
“Let it happen first, then I will consider what to do,” said the prime minister, adding that he will simply continue performing his duties if he is spared by the court.
The prime minister has a busy schedule over the next ten days, attending multiple meetings in the provinces.
