The government introduced a housing project today, comprising condominiums and houses to be built on land owned by the State Railways of Thailand.
The projects, called ‘Ban Puea Kon Thai’ (Houses for Thais), will be located in Bangkok and Pathum Thani (condominiums) and Chiang Mai (houses).
The four locations include Vibhavadi Soi 11, Thon Buri, Chiang Rak in Pathum Thani and a site near the Chiang Mai railway station. The prices of the dwellings will range from Bt1 million to Bt3 million, depending on the location.
Prospective buyers must meet specific criteria. They must be Thai citizens aged 20 or older, have a monthly income not exceeding 50,000 baht and must never have owned any type of housing, including under other ‘Ban Puea Kon Thai’ projects.
Another condition also states that ownership of the houses cannot be transferred within five years of registration.
Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra will preside over the launch of the project this afternoon at the Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal.
