The Cabinet is expected to consider the draft entertainment complex bill on March 11, instead of today as earlier reported, because it has just returned from review by the Council of State, which has recommended some changes, Finance Minister Pichai Chunhavajira said today.
He said that the amended draft will need to go through another round of public hearings before it is resubmitted to the Cabinet.
The bill will be debated in parliament once it is approved by the Cabinet, said the finance minister.
Meanwhile, anti-casino campaigners continue their protest today at Chamai Mayurachet Bridge, close to Government House. The protest has been peaceful and orderly, but the campaigners are being prevented from reaching Government House, because police have sealed off all approaches with cargo containers.
