In his first interview after the Court found him guilty of violating the Constitution by appointing Phichit, a long-time legal adviser to the Shinawatra family, Srettha declined to speculate on who would be the next Prime Minister. This was also his final interview as Prime Minister.
He mentioned that he had been working to the best of his ability in governing the country since his appointment in August last year.
He suggested that the acting Prime Minister could be either Deputy Prime Ministers Phumtham Wechayachai or Suriya Juangroongruangkit. He expressed confidence in the parliamentary system to elect a new Prime Minister.
Srettha has no contingency plan following the ruling. He insisted that he is a man of integrity and declined to comment further on the ruling, stating that it is now a matter of the past.
