PM thanks all parties

Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha this morning thanked all parties concerned for the success of the mission that saw the 12 missing young footballers and their coach found alive and well inside Tham Luang cave where they have been stranded since June 23.

In a tele-conference conducted at the Government House with officials running the rescue operation at Tham Luang cave,  Gen Prayut also wanted the safety of all the survivors assured before they are to be brought out of the cave.

A government spokesman quoted the prime minister as saying that the rescue mission was not considered over until all the survivors are safe.   Gen Prayut thanked all the units and volunteers who contributed to the success of the mission and said he would take responsibility for any mistakes that might have happened in the process.

Interior Minister Gen Anupong Phaochinda, meanwhile, said rescuers would try to extract the stranded party out the cave by today but would need to take into consideration an evaluation of the situation and the boys’ physical conditions.

He gave an assurance that even though the boys are still inside the cave, they are being taken care off by medical units that have already reached them.
