Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha said this morning that rescue teams are trying their best to bring the remaining 9 “Wild Boars” soccer team members out of Tham Luang cave as soon as possible.
He said he did not want the media to press for the exact time and date when the rest of the footballers will be all brought out after four of them were safely extracted yesterday.
“Don’t raise questions like this. Nobody would be able to tell you how long it will take. We will do that as soon as possible,” Gen Prayut said.
The prime minister said cabinet ministers, the governor and agencies concerned are working around the clock under his close supervision to resolve the situation.
Gen Prayut is due to travel to Phuket to follow up on the search for Chinese passengers who are still missing after the Phoenix dive boat capsized in rough seas off the tourist island on July 5.
From Phuket, the prime minister will fly to Chiang Rai in the afternoon to be briefed on the progress of the rescue operation at Tham Luang cave.
He will be accompanied by Interior Minister Anupong Phaojinda, who said the four cave survivors successfully rescued yesterday are all in a good health but still have to be closely watched by doctors at Chiang Rai Prachanukroh Hospital.
