The Transport Ministry’s Department of Airports announced this week that the new Passenger Service Charge (PSC), of 75 baht for travellers on domestic flights and 425 baht for those on international flights from six regional airports, increased from 50 baht and 400 baht respectively, and apply to both Thais and foreigners from October 1.
The airports include the Krabi, Surat Thani, Ubon Ratchathani, Khon Kaen, Nakhon Si Thammarat and Phitsanuloke international airports.
The increased airport tax is, however, included in the passengers’ airfare and shown on their tickets, according to Department of Airports’ announcement.
The official notification stated that the new charges limited to regional Thai airports at which the Self Check-in Automatic Service, the Passenger Validation System (PVS) through mandatory Boarding Pass processes and the Common Use Baggage Drop (CUBD) facility have been installed.
